Personal progress on playing every golf course in New Hampshire

I’ve debated how I want to track my personal progress toward completing the project of playing every golf course in New Hampshire. As it stands, I’ve played 432 holes out of the 1557 total in the state. Somehow being a lifelong golfer, who has lived in New Hampshire for 15 years, in three different cities, I’ve only played 27.7% of the golf holes across the state.

There’s something about this project that makes me want to start from the beginning, so I can properly document every course I play in a style similar to the Den Brae Course Review. Obviously starting from the beginning means eliminating a lot of prior progress, but as I review the courses I’ve played, I’d be happy to play any of them again. There are also some courses that I played once when I was 15 years old, and have very limited memory. I certainly wouldn’t be able to confidently rank or rate the course against others I’ve played recently now that I’m a more experienced golfer.

The 22 courses I’ve fully played so far:

  1. Nippo Lake Golf Course

  2. Owl's Nest Golf Club

  3. Candia Woods Golf Links

  4. Beaver Meadow Golf Course

  5. Duston Country Club

  6. Pease Golf Course

  7. Den Brae Golf Course

  8. Windham Country Club

  9. Canterbury Woods Country Club

  10. HoodKroft Country Club

  11. Stonebridge Country Club

  12. Loudon Country Club

  13. Intervale Country Club

  14. Ridgewood Country Club

  15. Rockingham Country Club

  16. Portsmouth Country Club

  17. Montcalm

  18. Cochecho Country Club

  19. Baker Hill Golf Club

  20. Wentworth by the Sea Country Club

  21. White Mountain Resort & Hale’s Location Golf Course

  22. Pembroke Pines

The 7 courses I’ve partially played so far:

  1. Province Lake Golf Club (9/18)

  2. Overlook Golf Club (9/18)

  3. Derryfield Country Club (9/18)

  4. Campbell's Scottish Highlands Golf Course (9/18)

  5. North Conway Country Club (9/18)

  6. Atkinson Resort & Country Club (18/27)

  7. Apple Hill Golf Club (18/27)

My plans going forward

Whenever I play a course that I haven’t written about, I’ll do my best to take some photos, and write up a full reflection on the round that I’ll post on this blog. So far the only one posted is the aforementioned Den Brae Course Review. I also played Baker Hill Golf Club on Saturday, September 9th. I have a course review post in the works that will go live in the coming week or so.

From the list of courses I’ve played, the only ones that concern me as being more difficult to replay are private courses like Portsmouth Country Club and Wentworth by the Sea Country Club. With that being said, I remember almost nothing about Wentworth as I was too young to really notice, and Portsmouth I might have played in a scramble. You could debate if playing in a scramble counts, but hopefully I’ll get to play again and play my own ball.

As the days get shorter in late September and October, I’ll look to squeeze in a few 9 hole rounds after work, and a few 18s on the weekends when possible. We’ll see how much progress I’ve made by the time snow starts to fly and courses close in November. But either way, I have a feeling that 2024 will be a big year.

Thanks for reading!
